Thank you, Mr. Williams

11 April, 2018

the place: Galerias Preciados's record store: at the end of the 70s. A child (myself) pleads with his father to make buy him the vinyl with "Star Wars" soundtrack. Meanwhile, embraces the disk as a treasure, waiting for that as well cannot be escape him. My father says: "It's too expensive", PVP 1000 pts puts on the label (6€), certain, very expensive for the time... but that does not matter to me and I want the album. In the end my father buy me the - double - disk and I hear it about 1000 times, one per each peseta which cost.

And is so, for me, what really came to me from that movie was music. And the same thing happens with each of the soundtracks that John Williams composed at that time.

The truth is that many children of my generation felt the same and, most importantly, many great composers of film soundtracks today will tell you that they are thanks to John Williams and, in particular, thanks to the music of "Star Wars" and that's great. In my case, that I can not even call myself a soundtracks composer, if it is clear that I'm still trying thanks to John Williams, someone affable, with a great sense of humor and, above all, and despite his great achievements and everything what has been done; a humble man. Thank you, Mr. Williams.
